Golf

There are three excellent, mature golf courses within 20 minutes of the house.  The French are a lot less stuffy about the game than we Brits and you will find that they don't require handicap certificates and there are almost no dress restrictions.  My three favourite courses are:

Sable d'Or les Pins

Sable d'Or has an interesting history.  Some entrpreneurs tried to create a Breton Deauville in the 1920's, but after building a golf course and a casino, went bust.  Anyway, the golf course is a links course with well-watered greens.  A friendly club with some challenging holes, especially the blind drive on the 17th.

Dinard

The second oldest club in France and a really good links course with a very friendly club house.  Only about 20 mins away.

St Cast

St Cast is a beautiful course with mature cedars and some lovely par 3's in the trees.  Right by the golden beach - it is a good challenge of golf.

Pleneuf Val Andre

You will not find any more spectacular holes than the 10th and 11th here.  You will never forget them.  A mature course with mature trees and well maintained greens, you must play this course.  Make time for lunch as well; no dry sandwiches here, an excellent restaurant quality meal can be had with some fine wine or cider.
